How To RP: Basics for Beginners

Use your imagination. If its rusty from disuse, that's ok. It'll get greased up from all the blood =D


~RULES OF ROLEPLAYING~
(yes thats right, RP's have their own set of rules >)

1.) You are your character, but your character DOES NOT know the same stuff that you do. It's ok to start out with the same knowledge that you have if you base your character off of yourself in real life, but if you know something that your character doesn't, you CANNOT use it to RP.
EX.) You know that there is a Boss coming up, but your Character DOES NOT KNOW.

2.) Your character is limited to their stats and whatever is in their inventory. If the DM (whoever is running the game), doesn't say that there's a random pitchfork in your inventory, then you can't all of a sudden pull out a pitchfork. This applies for ANY item.

3.) If you're dead, you're dead. The only way you can keep playing is if the DM makes some special circumstances. EX.) You come back as a Zombie Mini-Boss.

4.) You absolutely CANNOT control the other Players' actions or decisions. This is called God-Modding, and is forbidden in all literate RPs.

5.) Have fun with your character (reasonably). Your character can have any personality you want it to have, from Secret PKer to the Golden Boy.
Just remember that characters are limited to their stats.

6.) Don't post like a brain-dead baboon. More than 5 words or you'll be killed off for not being active. Its ok every once in a while, like if the pace is going really fast and everyone is posting every minute or so.
Also, one word posts are not acceptable whatsoever. They will get deleted.

7.) On posting: Post whenever as soon as possible, but try not to exceed 2 or 3 posts before the DM posts.
